The Hoodilidoo is an annual music festival celebrating and showcasing a diverse blend of music, art, performance art, freedom of expression, and community. The festival provides a forum for independent musicians, fans, and creative minds all of types to explore and enjoy non-violence, respect for the earth and our place on it, as well as a concern for others through music, education and community empowerment.
The Hoodilidoo will be at the 34 Ranch in Herod, Illinois from August 14th-16th, 2009. This is an exciting event featuring a diverse lineup of musicians, speakers, and advocacy groups.
The Hoodilidoo features more than 35 artists going non stop on two stages, with at least four performance slots reserved for Sonicbids artists. All artists will be compensated for their performances at a rate to be determined upon selection and booking. Artists will also receive products, services, and items free of charge from the festival sponsors.
Most genres are accepted, including alternative, bluegrass, blues, cajun/zydeco, Celtic, electronic, experimental, folk/traditional, freestyle, funk, gothic, indie, jazz, jam band, novelty, punk, rap/hip hop, reggae, rockabilly, rock, ska, soul/R&B, swing, spoken word, comedy, and world.
This event will also feature a first of its kind competitive burn. We are inviting some of the best fire spinning units around to compete in a judged format. We will provide structured categories as well as a freestyle challenge event.
An amazing array of food, art and merchandise vendors will make the festival easy to enjoy. The 34 Ranch is a full service campground with running water facilities provided including hot showers. This will be a camping festival with RV spots and available power connections.
The Hoodilidoo is a collaborative effort between Strange Measure Media and Top Shelf Events.
